1. The Hong Kong Speed Skating Academy Limited will be hereinafter referred to as “the Academy”. PLEASE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH BELOW (“TERMS OF USE”), as they govern your use of this website. By using this website, you agree to be bound by the Terms of Use.
2. By using this website, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this privacy policy statement.
3. This website may contains hyperlinks to a third party’s website. The linked sites are not under the control of the Academy. The Academy does not endorse the operator or the contents of the linked sites and shall not be responsible for the use and the contents of such linked sites.
4. You may set up hyperlinks to this website from other websites if you first obtain the written approval from the Academy (which may be withdrawn at any time at the discretion of the Academy). You will terminate the hyperlink within 2 days of your receipt of a notice from the Academy.

7. The Academy may modify these Terms of Use from time to time at its discretion. By continuing to use this website following such changes to the Terms of Use, you agree to be bound by such modifications.
8. These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (“Hong Kong”). You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts. This Privacy Policy Statement relates to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Chapter 486.
The Academy recognizes and respects the privacy of an individual’s personal data. Please read on for more details on the Academy’s policy and practices that it applies to the collection and use of your personal data.
9. From time to time, it is or will be necessary for you to supply to the Academy data such as your name, contact number, postal address, email address, HKID /passport number, birth date, gender, age, occupation, education, and personal interests etc. This website may also place 'cookie' in your computer browser to collect information which may include, but not limited to, relevant login and authentication details as well as information relating to your activities and preferences across this website. Failure to supply such data may result in the Academy's being unable to realize your preferences or provide its services to you. While we will take appropriate measures to safeguard data security, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, given the nature of the internet.
10. The purposes for which we may use the data collected or to be collected by the Academy are divided into obligatory purposes and voluntary purposes. If the data is only to be used for a voluntary purpose, the Academy will obtain your consent and you can tell the Academy not to use the data for that purpose and we will not do so. If the data is to be used for an obligatory purpose, you MUST provide the data to the Academy if you want the Academy to provide the services for which you are applying.
Purposes for which it is obligatory for you to provide the data are:
i. registering for specific events and activities;
ii. handling and following up requests or enquiries and matters related hereto;
iii. designing new or enhancing existing services provided by us for customers' use;
iv. processing and completing transaction requested by you;
v. processing your requests and enquiries;
vi. sending you administrative communications, such as future changes to this Privacy Policy Statement;
vii. administering and enforcing the rules of contests, sweepstakes, promotions and games offered by us and/or the terms of our commercial dealings, and identifying the winners or customers when collecting prizes or gifts from the Academy;
viii. assisting in law enforcement and meeting the requirements imposed by law or for claim-related purposes; for safety or security, or our internal business or administrative purposes; and for purposes relating to the above items.
Purposes for which it is only voluntary for you to provide the data are:
ix. sending to you direct marketing and promotional information and/or materials of products and services;
x. sending to you our future marketing purposes and/or joint promotion with ice rink partners and skating- or sport-related companies/associations for the products/services they provide.
xi. conducting customer and service surveys;
xii. purposes relating to the above items.
11. We intend to use your personal data including your name, address, telephone numbers, email and other contact information collected for marketing communications such as direct-mail, email, telephone calls, SMS and targeted banners containing news, promotions, offers and events to be offered by us or by our ice rink partners or future marketing purposes and/or joint promotions with skating- or sport-related companies and associations.
If you do not allow and agree for us to use the data for the voluntary purposes including direct marketing as listed above, please send an email to info@hkspeedskating.org with your name and request. You will be removed from our mailing list within SEVEN days upon our receipt of your request.
12. When the Academy collects the data from you, we will: tell you (by way of this Privacy Policy Statement or by a separate notification) that the Academy is doing so and the use that the Academy will make of such data we collect; where relevant, give you the opportunity to “opt out” (that is to restrict the uses the Academy will make of such data); tell you how you can review, change and delete the data the Academy has stored. Data held by the Academy relating to you will be kept confidential.
13. You have the right to: check whether the Academy holds any personal data relating to you and the right of access to such data; require the Academy to correct any data relating to you which is inaccurate; and ascertain the Academy's policies and practices in relation to personal data.
Request for access and correction of data and the kinds of data held should be addressed in writing to:

In accordance with the terms of the Ordinance, the Academy has the right to charge a reasonable fee for the processing of any data access request.
14. The Academy may modify this privacy policy statement from time to time at its discretion. By continuing to use this website following such changes to this privacy policy statement, you agree and accept to be bound by such modifications.
